Château Haut-Veyrac is a family property owned by the 5th generations of grand children, they have inherited the Château from their father; themself held by their father and so on. They can't trace the beginning of the story but this property belongs to the family for a really long time. Today it’s Caroline, Olivia and Guillaume, who lead the vineyard. Located on a hillside overlooking the village of Saint-Emilion, Haut-Veyrac has an exceptional terroir. The clay and limestone soil allows Merlot and Cabernet Franc grape varieties to grow in the best conditions. The vineyard now extends over 10 hectares (24,71 acres) in one piece. The Château enjoys prestigious neighbors like Château Valandraud, Château Fleur Cardinale, and Château Faugères. Haut-Veyrac has one philosophy: "Respect for Men, respect for our terroir, respect for our elders' work, and respect for the customers." Respecting the environment is not an obstacle it is the intangible condition, guarantee for success and longetivity that require rough daily requirements for them and their valued partners. A vineyard is not built in a fortnight, it is shaped over time. Merlot Vines give their full expression after minimum 40 years. This outdated notion which deserves to be inscribed on evry single facade does not prevent Haut-Veyrac to be looking toward the future. Wether it is in the vineyard, in the vinification methods, in the marketing process, or in the field of wine tourism; the Château is always carefully avoiding to succumb to what is trendy, being as ephemeral as silly. The constant and recurrent quality of their wines is ultimately what gives pleasure to their customers. Enjoying the perfect classic blend of Saint-Emillion, 85% Merlot, 15% Cabernet Franc this red wine possesses a purplish purple color. Complex, elegant and filigree bouquet. It reveals hints of cherries and chalk. The fruit and the terroir therefore coesxist perfectly. Strong attack also refreshing. The wine has liveliness, structure and features that go hand to hand via the sweet side. A balanced, attractive wine, with tannins that reveal themselves at the end and have necessary material to stand up to the race of the structure. While passing through the region, a stop at Château Haut-Veyrac is a must do. It is the opportunity to discover, taste, experience and taste, the best to enrich one from another. |
